A report is missing, late or incomplete

TroubleshootingReports4 min read

A report that did not appear is usually hidden by the period filter, or its schedule is paused. A report that misses its last day ran too early. The header of a report shows calendar days, but a daily value of a sensor only exists after the next sunrise.

  • The scheduled time has passed and there is no report.
  • The report is not in the list, but you know it was made.
  • The schedule shows “Paused” and you did not pause it.
  • A weekly report starts with a notice that daily values did not exist yet.
  • A report shows “All on target” and “No points of attention.” where you expected points.

The time has passed and there is no report

Section titled “The time has passed and there is no report”

A report does not arrive on the minute. A due schedule is picked up within about a minute, and making the report takes some minutes. An attempt that is not finished within 10 minutes fails. A failed attempt is retried after 5 minutes and once more after 15 minutes, so a report can arrive up to about an hour after its time. You only see the final result; the report still covers the day the schedule was due.

  1. Wait ten minutes and reload the Reports page. Give it an hour before you treat the run as failed.
  2. Open Manage schedules and check Next run and whether the schedule shows “Paused”.
  3. Check your usage. When your report limit is reached, the run is skipped and there is no report. The schedule shows Limit reached and resumes by itself when the counter resets. See Plans and usage limits.

The period filter starts at Last 14 days. Set it to Last 30 days or All time. If the page says “No reports match your filters.”, click Clear all filters.

A paused schedule makes no reports. The owner paused it, or it paused after three failed runs in a row. A run counts as failed only when its retries failed too. It does not resume by itself.

  1. Open Manage schedules and resume the schedule with its switch. It continues at its next time and does not catch up on missed runs.
  2. Click Run now in the menu of the schedule. You see “Triggered” or “Trigger failed”. A report about yesterday follows within minutes. Run now is not retried.
  3. If it pauses again, create the schedule anew and delete the old one. A schedule runs with your LetsGrow login as stored when you created it. Editing the schedule does not renew that login.

A weekly report says daily values did not exist yet

Section titled “A weekly report says daily values did not exist yet”

The notice at the top reads: “This report was generated before sunrise, so the daily values for [dates] did not exist yet. To include the full period, schedule this report later in the day, after sunrise.”

Two things are both true here:

What it is Runs from
Report period (in the header) The calendar days the report analyses 00:00 to 23:59
Daily value of a sensor One value per day Sunrise to the next sunrise

The daily value of a day is only written after the next sunrise. A report about yesterday that runs before today’s sunrise does not have yesterday’s daily value yet. The week averages, sums and comparisons of that report leave the missing days out. The notice lists every missing day of the week, not only the last one.

  1. Open Edit schedule and set Time to after sunrise.
  2. For a complete report about the same week, use Run now after sunrise. The report you already have does not change.

Only the weekly report gives this notice. A daily report that runs before sunrise has all 5-minute values of its day, but not the daily values of that day, and it does not warn you. A crop without daily measurements never gets the notice.

A report is empty where you expected points

Section titled “A report is empty where you expected points”

A report without points is a normal outcome. A failed report looks the same on the Reports page: “All on target” on the card and “No points of attention.” inside. The page does not show an error. A scheduled run leaves such a report only when its retries failed too; the reports of the retried attempts are removed. For a report you asked for in chat, the card in the chat says “Report failed”. For a scheduled report, use Run now to make it again.

Contact LetsGrow support when Run now shows “Trigger failed” twice, or when a schedule you created anew pauses again. Include the name of the schedule, the crop and the time of the run.
